Sesame Street: Grover And Alphabet Soup


MR. JOHNSON: Oh, waiter? GROVER: Yes, sir. Hello there. I am Grover. I am your waiter, and I’m
here to serve you. What can I get, hmm? MR. JOHNSON: Yes, I’d like a
bowl of hot alphabet soup. GROVER: A bowl of hot– MR. JOHNSON: Yeah, make
sure it’s hot. GROVER: Make sure it’s hot. MR. JOHNSON: Right. GROVER: OK, sir, coming
right up. Hey, Charlie, table 26 wants
a hot alphabet soup. MR. JOHNSON: [SINGING] A, B, C, D, E, F,
G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P. [HUMMING] GROVER: Oh, wow, how
hot this is. You are going to love this. Oh, look at that
delicious soup. There you are, sir. MR. JOHNSON: OK. I’ll just check it out. GROVER: Check what out? MR. JOHNSON: The alphabet. GROVER: Oh. Bon appetit. MR. JOHNSON: Let’s see, A,
B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I– waiter! GROVER: Yes, sir. MR. JOHNSON: There’s a J
missing in this soup. I don’t want it without a J. GROVER: A J missing
in the soup? MR. JOHNSON: Yes. GROVER: Oh. OK, I’ll get you that J.
Charlie, I think there’s a J missing in the soup. MR. JOHNSON: [SINGING] A, B, C, D– GROVER: OK there. MR. JOHNSON: [SINGING] –E, F, G. GROVER: I get that
J for the man. MR. JOHNSON: [SINGING] H, I, J, K. GROVER: OK, OK, here’s
that J, sir. Sir, here’s your J. MR. JOHNSON: Well, put
it in the soup. GROVER: In the soup, gotcha. OK, there it goes. OK? MR. JOHNSON: OK. GROVER: OK, have fun. MR. JOHNSON: Now, A, B, C, D, E,
F, G, H, I J, K, L, M, N– waiter? GROVER: Yes, sir. MR. JOHNSON: Now the
O is missing. I don’t want this soup
without an O. GROVER: It’s a bad day for
you, isn’t it, sir? OK, I’ll get you the O.
I’ll be right back. Oh, dear. First the J and then the O.
Charlie, i got a weirdo. He wants to know– MR. JOHNSON: [SINGING] A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I,
J, K, L, M, N, O, P. GROVER: This is silly. Sir, sir, I have an
O here for you. MR. JOHNSON: Well, drop it in. GROVER: Yes, sir, drop it in. There’s the O. OK? MR. JOHNSON: I’ll
check it out. GROVER: Check it out. Sure, why not? MR. JOHNSON: A, B, C, D, E, F,
G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y– GROVER: Don’t tell me. Don’t tell me. MR. JOHNSON: No good. GROVER: I bet something
is missing. MR. JOHNSON: The Y is missing. GROVER: The Y is missing? MR. JOHNSON: Nope, I’m wrong. I have a Y there. GROVER: I see the Y there. MR. JOHNSON: Yeah, it’s the Z. GROVER: See, you can’t
always be right. MR. JOHNSON: Well, anyway,
the Z is missing. GROVER: OK, I’ll get the Z.
All right, all right, don’t rub it in. MR. JOHNSON: I’m not going to
eat this soup without a Z. GROVER: It’s a good
restaurant. Don’t rub it in. I’ll get the Z. MR. JOHNSON: All right. GROVER: First the Y makes a
mistake, and then he wants the Z. MR. JOHNSON: [SINGING] A, B, C, D, E, F, G. [? GROVER: [GROANING], ?] OK, sir, I think I’m going to
make you very happy now. I have the Z right here, sir. MR. JOHNSON: Well,
it’s about time. GROVER: There he goes,
ker-plunk. MR. JOHNSON: OK,
now let’s see. A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K,
L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X– GROVER: Y. There’s Y. MR. JOHNSON: –Y, and Z. GROVER: And Z, there. Now I bet you are
all happy, hmm? MR. JOHNSON: Nope. GROVER: What– MR. JOHNSON: The soup’s cold. Take it back and get
me another bowl. [GROANING]
