  • MyArtSchool says:

    Thanks 🙂

  • Mohamed Farouk says:

    Hi Drew,
Perhaps you meant to say : I'd rather be a jack of all trades than a master of NONE, not ONE?

  • Temperance Raziel says:

"Jack of all trades, master of none" is the phrase you are thinking of.

  • Mohamed Farouk says:

Yes, that's what I said. But in the video however, Drew says "I'd rather be a jack of all trades than a master of NONE. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't a mistake you know. The usual phrase is as I just mentioned it.

  • EnglishAnyone says:

Way to get the party started, gentlemen! Yes, the phrase is, "jack of all trades, master of none," but let's consider three people:
    1. Jack of all trades
    2. Master of one
    3 Master of none
Which would you rather be? Certainly not the last one, right?

I'd rather be a jack of all trades than a master of ONE because choosing between being a jack of all trades and a master of NONE should be pretty easy. 😉 Of course I would rather have many talents than be a master of NONE. Make sense, M?

  • EnglishAnyone says:

    Go get 'em!

  • EnglishAnyone says:

    You're welcome, Dhamma!

  • Mohamed Farouk says:

Yes, it does make sense now. You know, I'm asking because I've always thought that mastering one thing is better than having a general knowledge of many things and not mastering them. That's what I've always known. What do you think?

  • EnglishAnyone says:

Well, I guess it depends on the situation. But I wasn't expressing my personal opinion in the video. 😀 I actually like being a master of one thing AND pretty damn good at a bunch of others!

  • EnglishAnyone says:

You know it! Teach those kids!

  • Temperance Raziel says:

The phrase used in the video is common as well. There is a difference in meaning between the phrase you used and the set phrase, "Jack of all trades, master of none".

  • Mohamed Farouk says:

I got it, thank! I now understand your point of view. As Drew mentioned it, he'd rather be a jack of all trades than a master of one. It's another point of view. A different choice in life.

  • EnglishAnyone says:

To each his own! Good work, both of you!

  • EnglishAnyone says:

  • EnglishAnyone says:

I didn't stop. I'm just busy working on other things. 🙂

I really want to finish this series.

We try making lots of different things, but then usually focus more on what teachers and learners find to be most popular.

The more popular a video series, the faster we make new videos for it. Maybe I'll make a new one today! 🙂

  • EnglishAnyone says:

    You're too kind. 🙂

And because you are so nice, I created a new slang video! It will finish uploading soon. 🙂

  • Markes Dantas says:
