Alphabet becomes 4th U.S. company to reach US$1 tril. market cap


Google’s parent company alphabet has hit
one trillion US dollars in market capitalization
becoming the fourth US company to reach the threshold after Apple Amazon and
Microsoft alphabet shares rose by 0.76 percent on Thursday on Wall Street
tipping it over the trillion dollar mark 22 years after it was founded this also
comes just over a month after former Google CEO sundar pichai was appointed
CEO of alphabet last December bringing increased optimism about possible
changes Apple was the first company to hit the trillion dollar milestone in
2018 followed by Microsoft and then Amazon
